Canadian performer, celebrated for his cinematic and television appearances, spanning from the late 1950s to the 1970s, earned the nickname "the Canadian James Dean" due to his successful feature film roles. Following his notable performances, Borisenko relocated to England, where he secured starring roles in two films directed by fellow Canadians, Sidney J. Furie and Mark Robson.
In Furie's wartime melodrama "During One Night" (1960),Borisenko showcased his acting prowess, while in Robson's "Nine Hours to Rama" (1963),he portrayed Naryan Apte, the friend of Gandhi's assassin, Nathuram Vinayak Godse, played by Horst Buchholz.
However, Borisenko's departure from Robert Aldrich's "The Dirty Dozen" (1967) was abrupt, as he walked off the set, dissatisfied with his role, which was subsequently offered to Donald Sutherland. Subsequently, he appeared on various television shows in Canada and England.
In the 1970s, Borisenko relocated to Los Angeles, adopting the stage name Jonas Wolfe. He continued to act in films, including "Black Gunn" (1972) and "The Laughing Policeman" (1973),and even ventured into entrepreneurship, opening a music club. Notably, he provided Van Halen with their first paying gig.
Eventually, Borisenko retired from acting, devoting himself to creative pursuits, including poetry, painting, and sculpture.
