Don Pedro Colley was born in the charming city of Klamath Falls, Oregon, to Muriel and Pete Colley, a father who played the piano with finesse and a mother who was an active figure in local politics.
Growing up, Don Pedro attended Klamath Union High School, where he was an accomplished athlete, particularly excelling in track and field, and even tried out for the 1960 Olympics in the discus throw, ultimately placing sixth. His academic pursuits led him to the University of Oregon, where he studied architecture.
However, Don Pedro's foray into acting was a serendipitous discovery, stemming from his decision to join friends for a play rehearsal. This marked the beginning of a successful acting career, with notable roles including Gideon in Daniel Boone, Ongaro in Beneath the Planet of the Apes, SRT in George Lucas' THX 1138, Joshua in The Legend of Nigger Charley, and his most iconic role as Sheriff Little in the popular 1980s television series The Dukes of Hazzard.
Throughout his life, Don Pedro remained remarkably active, making numerous guest appearances at conventions, festivals, and Dukes events worldwide. Fans could track his appearance schedule on his official website, www.donpedrocolley.net.
One of his final notable appearances was at "Cooter's Last Stand 2017" in Luray, Virginia, where he joined fellow cast members for the last official Dukesfest event, held on July 29 and 30.
Sadly, Don Pedro passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 11, 2017, after a year-long battle with cancer at the Skylakes Medical Center.
