Before embarking on a successful acting career, Don had a distinguished background in amateur and professional boxing. He trained at the renowned Gleasons gym in Brooklyn, New York, under the guidance of hall of fame trainers Bob Jackson, Al Gavin, and Ring 8 trainer of the year Hector Roca.
Don's boxing career began at the tender age of 11 at the Foster Laurie PAL, where he won his first championship at 12 years old, taking home the New York City kid gloves championship at Madison Square Garden.
