Donald "Don" Gay, born September 18, 1953, is a renowned American former professional rodeo cowboy, specializing in bull riding, with a record-breaking eight Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) bull riding world championships as of 2024.
Donald's father, Neal Gay, was a well-known rodeo competitor and later rodeo producer and stock contractor, and he was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 1993, making him and Don the only father-son duo to receive this honor. Don himself was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 1979 and the Bull Riding Hall of Fame in 2015.
Since 2000, Don has been the general manager of Frontier Rodeo Company, providing livestock to professional rodeos and bull riding events across the United States. He is also a television commentator for pro rodeo and pro bull riding events, having worked for various networks and events throughout his career.
Don commentated for the Mesquite Championship Rodeo during its televised run from the 1980s to 2000s, and he was a commentator for Professional Bull Riders (PBR) big-league events on TNN from 1993-2001, Championship Bull Riding (CBR) big-league events on Great American Country from 2009-10, and PRCA Xtreme Bulls big-league events on ESPN from 2003 to 2010 and GAC from 2011 to 2013.
From 2003 to 2017 and again since 2020, Don has provided commentary for the bull riding during the live telecasts of the National Finals Rodeo each December.
