Dorian Holley, a Los Angeles native, has had a distinguished career as a singer and vocal director. He has had the privilege of singing backup for music legends such as Michael Jackson on all of his solo tours, and also appeared as the Vocal Director and singer in the documentary "This Is It".
In addition to his work with Michael Jackson, Holley has also toured with an impressive array of artists, including Queen Latifah, James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Rod Stewart, Lionel Richie, Don Henley, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, Usher, Christina Aguilera, Little Big Town, Stevie Nicks, Patti LaBelle, Chris Brown, Herbie Hancock, John Legend, Chris Daughtry, Mary J. Blige, Joni Mitchell, Jennifer Hudson, Joss Stone, Seal, and many others.
Holley's voice has also been featured in numerous films, including "Star Wars: Rogue One", "The Jungle Book", "The Princess and the Frog", "Happy Feet", "American Gangster", "Ice Age 2 & 4", "South Park: The Movie", "The Haunted Mansion", "The Five Heartbeats", "Pretty Woman", and "Stir Crazy".
As a vocal director, Holley has worked on several high-profile projects, including "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno, where he was the lead singer in The Rickey Minor Band for three years. He has also been the head of the Pop Music Vocal Department at the Los Angeles College of Music in Pasadena, California.
Holley has also had a successful career as a vocal coach, having been the Associate Music Director and Vocal Coach on "American Idol" for 10 years. Additionally, he was a featured soloist on "Dancing with the Stars" for its first three years.
In 2003, Holley married Uber lawyer Shawn Holley, and they have three daughters together: Nayanna, Sasha, and Olivia.
