Doug Fahl was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, where he spent his formative years surrounded by the unique cultural and geographical characteristics of the region. His parents, Lafaye and David Fahl, had a chance encounter in the small coal mining town of Helper, Utah, which would later have a profound impact on Doug's life.
As he grew older, Doug discovered his passion for acting during his high school years and went on to hone his craft at the University of Utah, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a major in Theatre and minors in Music and Dance. This solid foundation in the performing arts prepared him for his early career, which included working with esteemed theatre companies such as Salt Lake Acting Company and Pioneer Theatre Company.
After relocating to Seattle, Washington in 1991, Doug continued to build his theatre resume by collaborating with a variety of companies, including Seattle Repertory Theatre, Village Theatre, ArtsWest, Seattle Musical Theatre, SecondStory Rep, and many others. His impressive body of work earned him a Gregory Award nomination for his standout performance in The Pride at Theatre22.
In addition to his extensive theatre experience, Doug has also made a name for himself in the film industry, making his debut in ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction (2009) and going on to work on numerous independent features and short films. He has also appeared in network television, with a notable role in the SYFY series Z Nation (2014),Ep. 401 Warren's Dream (2017).
To complement his already impressive career, Doug has also ventured into commercial, industrial, and voice-over projects, showcasing his versatility as a performer.
In 2018, Doug launched a YouTube Channel and Facebook group called Augmented Actor, which serves as a valuable resource for other actors seeking to improve their craft and navigate the ever-changing entertainment industry.
