Dragan Nikolic's cinematic journey began in 1964 with his debut film, Pravo stanje stvari, marking the starting point of his illustrious career. However, his breakthrough role came in 1967 when he portrayed Dzimi Barka in the movie When I Am Dead and Gone, directed by the renowned Zivojin Pavlovic. This performance earned him a prestigious Diploma at the Pula Film Festival in 1968, setting the stage for his future success.
Throughout his career, Dragan Nikolic appeared in over 90 feature films, solidifying his position as a prominent figure in the film industry. In 1985, he received the esteemed "October award" of Belgrade, a testament to his outstanding contributions. His personal life was marked by a loving marriage to the talented actress Milena Dravic.
In addition to his film work, Dragan Nikolic was an integral part of Belgrade's theatre scene, with a long-standing association with the esteemed Atelje 212 theatre (1969-2009). During this period, he embodied an impressive array of characters, including Berger in the iconic musical Hair, Djenka Djavo in The Marathon Family, Gavrilo in St. George Kills The Dragon, and The Unknown in The Visitor.
