Duane Earl Poole, a renowned writer and producer, lived a remarkable life spanning 50 years in the television and theater industries before his passing on April 1, 2023, in Studio City, California, due to cancer.
Born in Prescott, Arizona, USA, Duane left an indelible mark on the world of entertainment with his extensive portfolio of prestigious projects. One of his most notable accomplishments was adapting Truman Capote's story, "A Christmas Memory," into a Hallmark Hall Of Fame movie, which has become a beloved holiday classic.
Duane's passion for storytelling extended beyond Christmas comedies, as he also penned dramatic films like "For The Love Of A Child," a powerful exploration of child abuse that premiered in Washington, D.C. and was followed by a special meeting at the White House.
In addition to his work in film, Duane wrote the award-winning stage musical "Scrooge In Love," with lyrics by Kellan Blair and music by Larry Grossman, which continues to delight audiences worldwide, playing in dozens of theaters every year.
Duane is survived by his loving husband, Frank Bonventre, their family, and their cherished "family-friends."
