Biography

Earl F. Hilliard, Jr. is the offspring of the illustrious former Congressman Earl Hilliard, Sr., a pioneering figure who achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the first African-American elected to Congress from Alabama since the Reconstruction era, a period of significant historical importance and transformation in the United States.

In November 2006, Hilliard Jr. successfully campaigned and was subsequently elected to represent House District 60 in the Alabama State Legislature, marking a notable achievement in his own right and demonstrating a strong potential for future leadership and public service.

As a dynamic and multidimensional individual, Hilliard embodies a trifecta of professional pursuits, simultaneously exceling as an attorney, a filmmaker, and a politician. His academic trajectory began at Morehouse College, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing, complemented by a minor in Film, showcasing his versatility and breadth of interests. Following his undergraduate studies, Hilliard further honed his intellectual and professional skills by attending the University of Alabama Law School and Howard University School of Law, ultimately graduating with a Juris Doctorate degree from Howard University, a testament to his dedication and perseverance.

Subsequently, he transitioned to Washington, D.C. where he assumed the position of Director of Government Relations for Morehouse College.

Presently, Hilliard is an esteemed attorney, practicing law with the reputable firm of Hilliard, Smith & Hunt, LLC. Additionally, he serves as the President of Magic City Films, Inc., overseeing the operations of this innovative production company.

Noted community stalwart, Hilliard is proudly associated with the esteemed Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church of North Pratt, where he actively participates in various capacities. Furthermore, he is a respected member of the venerable Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., a prestigious organization dedicated to promoting the values of brotherhood, scholarship, and service.

In addition to his fraternal commitments, Hilliard is also a professional member of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, a prominent labor union that advocates for the rights and interests of artists and performers.
