Oded Ha-Carmeili, later professionally known as Eddie Carmel, was born on March 16, 1936, in Israel, but would later become a renowned American entertainer. Unfortunately, Carmel's life was significantly impacted by a pituitary adenoma, which led to the development of gigantism and acromegaly.
As a result of his extraordinary physical appearance, Carmel earned himself a plethora of nicknames, including the monikers "The Jewish Giant", "The Happy Giant", and "The World's Biggest Cowboy". According to the esteemed Guinness Book of World Records, Carmel towered over the average individual at an astonishing 9 feet (274 cm) tall. However, his height was sometimes listed as 8 ft 9 in (268 cm) or even 9 ft 0.625 inches (276 cm) tall.
Despite these reported heights, some sources suggest that Carmel's actual height may have been closer to the more modest 7 ft 3 inches tall.
