Eden Marryshow, a multi-talented Director/Writer/Actor hailing from Flatbush, Brooklyn, has made a profound impact in the entertainment industry. Prior to his illustrious career, Marryshow dedicated over a decade to the New York City Department of Education, serving as a Paraprofessional and teaching some of the city's most marginalized youth.
Among his students was Latina "Peanut" Bilbro, who held a special place in Marryshow's heart. Peanut would often express her faith in Marryshow, believing that he would one day realize his dream of making movies. Tragically, on June 22nd, 2006, Marryshow received devastating news: Peanut had been shot and killed in a drive-by shooting. This life-altering event served as a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of pursuing one's passions.
With a newfound sense of purpose, Marryshow decided to honor his beloved student's memory by following his dream and proving her right. His dedication and perseverance have led to numerous accolades, including the Grand Jury Prize: Best Director at the American Black Film Festival, the HBO Award for Best Film, and the Audience Award at the Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival.
Marryshow's feature film, Bruce!!!!, has also received critical acclaim and was nominated for Best Film at the Urbanworld Film Festival. The film opened nationwide in March, playing in 25 cities through AMCindependent.
In addition to his film endeavors, Marryshow made his Broadway debut this year as Ray Mills in the Tony Award-winning play INK. He is currently preparing to shoot the feature film Flatbush in 2020.
Throughout his journey, Marryshow has remained steadfast in his commitment to chasing his dreams and honoring the memory of his beloved student, Peanut. His mantra, "Dream Big, Go Hard! Let's Get It! Peanut, I love you," serves as a testament to his unwavering dedication and the profound impact Peanut had on his life.
