Edward Tyndall, a multifaceted individual, was born in Durham, North Carolina, and later became the bassist for the 1980s punk band The Celibate Commandos.
While still residing in Durham, Tyndall demonstrated his literary prowess by writing the underground political poetry series, The Fruits of the Holy System.
Prior to pursuing his passion for filmmaking, Tyndall earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Classical Civilization and received his commission as an Armor Officer in the US Army.
Subsequently, Tyndall went on to earn his Master of Fine Arts degree in Film, setting the stage for a successful career in the film industry.
Tyndall's award-winning films have garnered international recognition, screening at prestigious film festivals such as the Tribeca and London Film Festivals.
Furthermore, his screenplays have received accolades at premier screenwriting competitions, including the Sundance Screenwriters Lab, the Denver Film Festival, the Oaxaca Film Festival, and the Austin Film Festival's Screenwriters Conference.
In addition to his work in feature films, Tyndall has also produced documentary pieces that have aired on television in the US and Canada, and have been distributed globally.
Throughout his career, Tyndall has held various positions, including Program Coordinator of the Media Production Program at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Lead Programmer of the South Texas Cinematheque Screening Series, and currently, he serves as a filmmaker and screenwriting instructor at The University of Colorado Denver.
