Eileen Chang, a celebrated Chinese-American author, writer, and screenwriter, whose pseudonym was Liang Jing, and was also widely recognized by her alternative names Chang Ai-ling or Zhang Ailing, was a highly influential and esteemed figure in Chinese history, renowned for her groundbreaking and pivotal contributions to the feminist movement.

Born into an aristocratic family, Chang received a unique and comprehensive bilingual education in Shanghai, which served as the foundation and catalyst for her future literary achievements and successes.
