Elaine Bromka has had a remarkable career spanning over three decades as an accomplished actress. Her impressive filmography includes notable roles such as Cindy, the loving mother in Uncle Buck, and memorable appearances in Without a Trace.
Television has also been a significant platform for her work, with notable guest spots on hit shows like The Blacklist, Maniac, Girls, The Sopranos, Sex & the City, E.R., Providence, Dharma & Greg, Sisters, and all the Law and Order series, including Law and Order: Special Victims' Unit and L&O: Criminal Intent.
Her impressive resume also includes a wide range of stage productions, including Broadway shows like The Rose Tattoo, I'm Not Rappaport, and Macbeth, as well as off-Broadway productions like Cloud 9 at the Lucille Lortel, Roundabout's Inadmissible Evidence with Nicol Williamson, the world premiere of Michael Weller's Split at E.S.T., and Candide with the National Theatre of the Deaf.
As a seasoned regional theater performer, she has played leading roles at numerous esteemed institutions across the country, including Long Wharf, Hartford Stage, Center Stage, Actors Theatre of Louisville, ACT/Seattle, O'Neill Playwrights Conference, Shakespeare and Company, McCarter Theatre, Pittsburgh Public Theater, George Street Playhouse, and the Folger Theatre Group.
Her impressive repertoire includes iconic roles such as Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing and Shirley Valentine, earning her a prestigious award from the Star Ledger as the outstanding solo performance in New Jersey in 1997.
After starring opposite Rich Little in The Presidents for P.B.S., where she portrayed eight First Ladies, she co-wrote and starred in the solo show Tea for Three: Lady Bird, Pat & Betty, which she has continued to tour nationwide since its successful Off-Broadway run.
As a respected member of the Actors Studio, Ensemble Studio Theatre, and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Smith College, she has also been a faculty member at Smith and NYU's Steinhardt School, and has taught her one-day acting workshops at over 150 colleges and prep schools across the country.
