Eliane Caffé, a renowned Brazilian filmmaker, was born in 1961 in the vibrant city of São Paulo. Her educational background is marked by a Psychology degree from the esteemed Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, which she earned in 1985. Caffé's thirst for knowledge led her to further her studies, and she obtained a master's degree from the prestigious Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 1992.

As a filmmaker, Caffé began her career by directing several short films, showcasing her unique storytelling abilities. Her feature film debut, Kenoma, released in 1997, garnered significant attention at the 55th Venice Film Festival, where it won the esteemed Soleil d'or award. The film also received accolades at the 20th Biarritz Film Festival, solidifying Caffé's reputation as a talented filmmaker.

Caffé's second feature film, Narradores de Javé, was released in 2003, and marked another milestone in her illustrious career. In 2016, she released Era o Hotel Cambridge, a groundbreaking docufiction film that tells the story of a squatted hotel in downtown São Paulo.
