Elisabeth Oas is a renowned American actress, primarily recognized for her outstanding performances in independent films and her iconic portrayal of "Diggy" in the notable movie "Save the Last Dance", alongside esteemed co-stars Kerry Washington and Julia Stiles.
Born and raised in a small town outside of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Elisabeth grew up in a loving, blue-collar family with one brother. Her childhood was marked by a strong sense of determination, as she declared at the tender age of 10 that she wanted to pursue a career in acting.
As a member of a musical family, Elisabeth was surrounded by music, but she was the only one with a passion for the performing arts. She worked tirelessly to secure an acting scholarship to Western Michigan University, where she successfully completed her B.F.A. degree. Additionally, she was offered a full-ride scholarship to pursue her master's degree in acting in Connecticut, but instead, she followed her heart and relocated to Chicago, where she had an agent waiting for her.
On stage, Elisabeth originated the role of "Betty Page" in the play "Betty Page Uncensored" at the prestigious Playground Theater in Chicago. Her film credits include "Into Temptation", where she played the role of "Maria" alongside Jeremy Sisto (Law & Order/Suburbia) and Kristen Chenoweth (Wicked/Glee).
Elisabeth reflected on her experience in "Into Temptation", stating that it was an incredible opportunity for her to showcase her ability to cry on cue. She expressed that, as an actress, she had previously only performed on stage, but this was her first experience with filming. Despite some of her scenes being cut, Elisabeth felt confident in her ability to convey emotion on camera.
Elisabeth's dream is to star in a period piece, and her academic background in English and British Literature has instilled in her a deep appreciation for historical movies and plays.
