Elizabeth Holtzman, a distinguished American attorney and politician, was born on August 11, 1941. Her illustrious career in public service spanned multiple decades, commencing in 1973 when she was elected to represent New York's 16th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives as a member of the Democratic Party. She served in this esteemed position until 1981.
Following her tenure in Congress, Holtzman went on to hold the office of district attorney of Kings County from 1982 to 1989, utilizing her legal expertise to serve the community. Her remarkable public service continued as she was appointed the 40th Comptroller of New York City, a position she held from 1990 to 1993.
More recently, in the 2022 election, Holtzman made a bid for the Democratic nomination in New York's 10th congressional district, although unfortunately, she did not secure the nomination.
