Ella, a renowned film director, hails from London and has made a name for herself in the industry. Her journey began as a professional actress, before she pursued higher education at Cambridge University, where she earned a double first class degree in History.
After graduating, Ella transitioned into the world of film and television development, serving as an Executive for Bonafide Films and later as a Freelance Script Editor, working alongside acclaimed writers such as Gwyneth Hughes and Peter Moffat.
Ella's directorial debut was a trilogy of re-imagined fairy tales, including 'The Ugly Duckling', starring Thomas Sangster, which garnered the 'Festival Favourite' award at the Palm Springs Gay and Lesbian Festival. Her subsequent projects, 'International Men's Day' and 'Foot in Mouth', showcased her versatility as a director, with the latter premiering at the Phoenix Film Festival.
Most recently, Ella completed 'Sarah Chong is Going to Kill Herself', a comedy short commissioned by Creative England's 'Funny Girls' scheme, in association with the BFI Network, Big Talk Films, and Baby Cow Productions. She was mentored by the accomplished Paul King (Paddington, The Mighty Boosh) and Peter Straughan (Wolf Hall, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy).
'Sarah Chong' premiered at the LOCO London Comedy Film Festival and is set to screen at the Cambridge Film Festival. Ella is represented by the esteemed agency, Casarotto Ramsay and Associates, and is managed by Abby Singer and Lotte Beasley.
