Elza Radziņa, a renowned Soviet Latvian theater and cinema actress, master of the spoken word, was born on February 10, 1917, in Kharkiv, Russian Empire, and passed away on August 18, 2005, in Riga, Latvia.

Throughout her illustrious career, Elza Radziņa received numerous accolades, including the prestigious award of People's Artist of the USSR in 1976 and the esteemed Order of the Three Stars in 1995.

Elza Radziņa's educational background began with her studies at the Jelgava theater studio in 1942. Following World War II, she started her professional career at the Jelgava Drama theater, where she remained from 1945 to 1953.

During her tenure at Jelgava Drama theater, Elza Radziņa briefly worked at the Valmiera Drama theater before making a permanent move to the Latvian National Theater in 1954. It was at the Latvian National Theater that Elza Radziņa solidified her position as one of the leading actresses.

Elza Radziņa's cinematic debut occurred in 1949, when she starred in the biographical drama film "Rainis" produced by Riga Film Studio.
