Born in Taiwan, Emily Ting is a highly acclaimed writer, director, and producer who has made a significant impact in the entertainment industry. Her latest project, the supernatural YA romance GIRL HAUNTS BOY, starring Peyton List and Michael Cimino, is set to premiere on Netflix in the fall of 2024.
Prior to this, Emily directed the Netflix original film TALL GIRL 2, the sequel to the hit teen rom-com, which was released worldwide over Valentine's Day weekend in 2022. Her earlier work includes writing and directing the independent features ALREADY TOMORROW IN HONG KONG, which was theatrically released in 2016, and GO BACK TO CHINA, which premiered at SXSW in 2019.
As a screenwriter, Emily has also co-written several Hallmark holiday films, including CHRISTMAS WITH THE SINGHS, scheduled for release in 2024, SEALED WITH A LIST, released in 2023, and CHRISTMAS AT THE GOLDEN DRAGON, released in 2022. She is currently developing MERRY FRIENDSMAS, which is set to be released on the network in Christmas 2025.
Emily has also gained recognition for her producing work, having served as producer or executive producer on several indie features, including THE KITCHEN, A YEAR AND CHANGE, PIT STOP, LAND HO!, MAN FROM RENO, and I WILL MAKE YOU MINE.
In the near future, Emily is attached to direct IT WAS YOU, a Blacklist script written by #StarringJohnCho founder William Yu and produced by Jon M. Chu, and AMERICAN PANDA, based on Gloria Chao's bestselling novel and produced by Awkwafina.
Emily resides in Los Angeles with her twins Austin and Celeste, and is represented by Verve Agency.
