Erica Tremblay is a talented and accomplished American writer and director from the Seneca-Cayuga Nation. Her professional journey has been marked by numerous achievements, including her role as an executive story editor on the popular FX series Reservation Dogs, where she also directed her first television episode.
In addition to her work on Reservation Dogs, Tremblay has been involved in developing a series adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize finalist novel Yellowbird (2014) for Paramount+, a project she co-created with Sterlin Harjo. Her impressive resume also includes a stint as an executive story editor on the critically acclaimed series Dark Winds (2022),which was produced by the renowned duo George R.R. Martin and Robert Redford.
Tremblay's feature film project, Fancy Dance (2023),was selected for the prestigious 2021 Sundance Directors & Screenwriters Labs. Her impressive list of awards and grants includes the Walter Bernstein Screenwriting Fellowship, the Maja Kristin Directing Fellowship, the SFFILM Rainin Grant, and the Lynn Shelton of a Certain Age Grant, all of which she received in 2021.
Tremblay's short film, Little Chief (2020),premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and was included on IndieWire's top-10 list of must-see short films at the festival. In addition to her work as a writer and director, Tremblay is also dedicated to preserving her indigenous language, and is currently studying it as part of her ongoing efforts to honor her cultural heritage.
