Biography

Etalvia Cashin is a talented actress born to a French Creole heritage, with roots tracing back to the Ivory Coast of West Africa, Ireland, Spain, and Native America. Growing up in Houston, Texas, she embodies the spirit of the Creole woman from the bayous of Southeast Louisiana, surrounded by an abundance of diversity and being bilingual in English and Spanish.

From a young age, Etalvia's passion for the performing arts was nurtured, beginning with her training in theatre arts, classic piano, and dance. As a classically trained dancer, she is proficient in ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary styles. Her performing arts education was further enriched by her experience as a former competitive cheerleader, academic scholar, and thespian.

At the age of 17, Etalvia earned a prestigious Business Marketing and Theatre Arts scholarship to Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. This scholarship allowed her to relocate to Los Angeles and pursue a career in Film and Television as an actor. Her early career milestones include appearing in the 2009 film Star Trek and the 2010 comedy Date Night, starring Tina Fey and Steve Carell.

While still in school, Etalvia's talent was recognized with a starring role in the indie film Okechukwu, which received critical acclaim at the LMU Film Outside the Frame Awards in 2012. The film was also showcased at several prestigious film festivals, including the Hollywood Black Film Festival, Roxbury Film Festival in Boston, Texas Black Film Festival in Dallas, and Pan African Film Festival in Hollywood.

Upon graduating, Etalvia continued to work consistently in the entertainment industry, appearing in the sitcom The Neighbors and the web-series Breaking Point, which won an award at the LAWebFest. Her comedic skills were showcased in the feature film Cuffing Season, where she played the lead female character Chase. She then joined the cast of Joe Carnahan's thriller Stretch, starring alongside Jessica Alba and Brooklyn Decker.

Most recently, Etalvia secured a role in the comedy-horror film The Sand, playing the enigmatic character Heather. Throughout her career, Etalvia has demonstrated her dedication to mastering her craft, striving to bring authenticity to her characters. Her ultimate goal is to bring life to the characters she portrays, and her future is filled with limitless possibilities as a talented and ambitious actress.
