Evan Kidd is a renowned filmmaker residing in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he nurtured his passion for storytelling from an early age. As a native of North Carolina, Kidd's creative journey began with a deep fascination for film, eventually transforming into a successful career. His works have been showcased globally, with notable screenings at esteemed events such as Rostrum Records, Cucalorus Film Festival, New Orleans Film Festival, XXL, Mass Appeal, BET, and MTV Jams.
Kidd's academic background is marked by his 2014 graduation from East Carolina University, where he earned his degree with honors in Cinematic Arts and Media Production. During his collegiate years, Kidd directed "Spazz Out!", a 35-minute documentary chronicling the annual Spazz Fest musical festival in Greenville, North Carolina. The following year, Kidd wrote and directed the narrative feature Son of Clowns, which garnered multiple awards on the film festival circuit in 2016, including selection at the Cucalorus Film Festival and distribution on Amazon Prime Video. Kidd has also directed numerous music videos, including the video for Justin Garner's "Love Strikes Twice", which rotated on MTV Jams and VH1 Soul in early 2016.
In 2017, Evan was awarded a documentary research grant from The New Orleans Video Access Center to create his short documentary "Flooded With You", shedding light on the personal and environmental causes of the historic Baton Rouge, Louisiana floods of 2016. Later that year, Kidd wrote, directed, and distributed Home Remedy, an independent television show through Amazon Prime Video. Released in 2020, his second surrealist feature film Panda Bear It was shot in just seven days across his home state of North Carolina and is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
