Eyal Meyer Shevat is a multifaceted individual, born to a family of German and Israeli immigrants in Chile, with a rich cultural heritage. He pursued his passion for acting at the University of Chile, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2007. Not content to simply stick to one skill, Eyal has continuously sought to expand his versatility as an actor, undertaking extensive training in various disciplines, including dancing, singing, physical theatre, voice over, yoga, and martial arts.
One of his most notable pursuits is his dedication to the ancient martial art of Kalaripayattu, which he has been practicing since 2006. This traditional Indian art form, considered the oldest of all martial arts, involves a range of techniques, including attack and defense methods, as well as the use of various weapons, such as wooden and metal sticks, swords, shields, spears, and flexible swords. Eyal's expertise in Kalaripayattu has led him to train at renowned institutions in India, including Hindustan Kalari Sangam and Kalarigram, and he has been teaching since 2011. In 2020, he founded and became the chief instructor of Mauna Kalari, the first Kalarippayattu center in Chile.
As an on-screen performer, Eyal has appeared in a variety of productions, including feature films, shorts, TV series, drama serials, and live shows. Since 2018, he has been hosting a popular radio show on the Chilean dial Fmdos, and has also gained experience in voice over and dubbing. In addition, he has worked on commercials and editorial photoshoots, showcasing his versatility as a model.
Eyal's stage career has been equally impressive, with performances dating back to 2005. He has appeared in numerous plays, both in traditional theaters and unconventional spaces, such as street theater, puppet theater, public interventions, performances, contemporary dance, and art installations. He has also worked as a creator, performer, choreographer, and assistant director on various projects, solidifying his reputation as a talented and innovative artist.
