Fabien Martorell, a multi-award-winning director from France, relocated to Los Angeles, bringing his unique perspective and expertise to the American film industry. His impressive body of work includes the critically acclaimed film "Collision," a Netflix original, shot on location in Johannesburg.
Martorell is currently in post-production for his second feature documentary, "The Guns Story," which boasts an impressive lineup of legendary guests, including Tracii Guns, Iggy Pop, Lemmy Kilmister, and others. His latest short film, "Unbelief," starring Andrew Howard and Tobin Bell, has already garnered multiple awards and nominations, and has been officially selected for numerous international film festivals.
Another notable short film, "The Coin," starring Christopher Lloyd and Kathryn Morris, is based on the short story "Soul Murder" by David Mamet. This film has won numerous awards and nominations, and has been an official selection at several major international film festivals, including four Academy-qualifying festivals.
Martorell's feature-length documentary, "Tromatized: Meet Lloyd Kaufman," is a biographical documentary about the legendary and eccentric Lloyd Kaufman, president of Troma Entertainment and creator of the Toxic Avenger. The film premiered at the 2009 New York International Independent Film Festival, where it won the award for "Best Biographical Documentary." The film features appearances by notable industry professionals, including Stan Lee, Roger Corman, John Badham, Eli Roth, Trey Parker, Mark Damon, Steven Paul, James Gunn, and Tiffany Shepis.
"Tromatized" has been selected for several other US film festivals, including the Hollywood Film Festival and NewFilmmakers Los Angeles, and has received critical acclaim from specialized press and critics. The film is currently distributed worldwide on various online platforms, including Amazon, iTunes, and Vudu.
In addition to his feature films, Martorell has directed, written, and produced numerous short films, including "The Track," "La Luna," and "Memories of a Dagger."
