Fabio Jafet is a renowned director and editor with nearly two decades of experience in the entertainment and broadcast journalism industries. His impressive career has spanned a wide range of projects, from editing the most-watched video on YouTube in 2009, Pitbull's "I Know You Want Me," to winning an Emmy Award for a documentary in Afghanistan.
Fabio's career in broadcast journalism began in 1989, where he won a total of nine Emmy Awards with 13 nominations, covering significant events such as the Oklahoma City Bombing, Yitzhak Rabin's Assassination, the Historic Papal Visit to Cuba, OJ's Trial, and many others.
His first major commercial project was directing Skid Row's full-length band DVD, "Under The Skin." He then became the in-house director for Aezra/EMI records, traveling from London to Los Angeles to direct EPKs and music videos for artists such as Magna-Fi, Deep Blue Something, Billy Miles, The Toadies, and many more.
Fabio expanded his directorial repertoire by directing the documentary feature film "Waking Up Dead," a controversial insight into the world of sex, drugs, and rock n' roll. The movie received critical acclaim and was featured in several film festivals around the country, playing in select theaters in New York and Ft. Lauderdale.
Following "Waking Up Dead," Fabio edited the award-winning documentaries "Fatboy" and "Facing The Habit." This led to editing projects with director/writer Tom Holland ("Child's Play," "Fright Night") on a drama pilot featuring Patrick Bergin titled "Driven" and a horror web series titled "5 or Die."
Fabio continues to work in the music industry, directing and editing projects for artists such as Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, Lil' Wayne, Gus G., from Ozzy Osbourne's band, Children Of Bodom, Temple Of Brutality, Nicola Fasano, Billy Blue, Flo Rida, and many more. His work includes editing Pitbull's smash hit "I Know You Want Me," which ended up being the number one music video of 2009 on YouTube with over 190 million views to date, and it currently stands as one of the most-watched YouTube videos of all time.
His most recent video, Enrique Iglesias's "I Like It," was nominated for a 2010 MTV Music Video Award for Best Dance Video. Fabio served as the 2nd Unit director and scripted and directed the entire narrative of the video with the cast of Jersey Shore.
In 2011, Fabio directed a series of commercials for ESP Guitars featuring Gus G. from Ozzy Osbourne's band and Alexi Laiho from Children Of Bodom.
