Prior to finding his footing in the broadcasting industry, Leclerc toiled away at various occupations, accumulating valuable life experience and developing a strong work ethic.

It was not until 1934 that he finally discovered his calling as a radio announcer, and he went on to hone his skills in this field, broadcasting to audiences in Québec City and Trois-Rivières from 1934 to 1937.

In the year 1939, a pivotal moment in his illustrious career unfolded as he embarked upon a writing tenure at Radio-Canada, situated in the vibrant city of Montréal. During this period, he devoted himself to crafting scripts for radio dramas, including the notable "Je me souviens", which marked one of his earliest forays into songwriting. Moreover, he took on acting roles in various radio dramas, including the captivating "Un homme et son péché".

Leclerc, a multifaceted individual, embarked on a creative journey, authoring numerous scripts that would eventually take the stage by storm, as he founded a renowned performing company that showcased its productions throughout the province of Québec.

As his talent and reputation continued to flourish, Leclerc's work caught the attention of the illustrious Parisian impresario, Jacques Canetti, who recognized the immense potential that lay within the artist. In 1950, Canetti discovered Leclerc, and the latter's performances in France were met with widespread acclaim, solidifying his status as a rising star.

In recognition of his exceptional abilities, Leclerc was offered a recording contract with the prestigious Polydor Records, marking a significant milestone in his career.

He made his way back to the province of Québec in the year 1953, marking a significant milestone in his illustrious career. Just five years later, in 1958, he was awarded the most prestigious accolade from the esteemed Académie Charles Cros, a renowned institution in France, in recognition of his outstanding work on his second album.

Furthermore, Leclerc was also conferred the National Order of Québec, a distinguished honor reserved for those who have made significant contributions to the province's cultural, scientific, or artistic development.

In addition to these honors, Leclerc was further distinguished by being appointed a Chevalier of the French Légion d'honneur in 1986, a coveted title bestowed upon individuals who have demonstrated outstanding service to France or to humanity.

As a devoted patriarch, Leclerc was blessed with a trio of talented offspring, each carving out their own unique path in the world. His eldest child, Martin Leclerc, is a skilled photographer and cameraman, capturing life's precious moments through the lens of his camera.

Next in line is Francis Leclerc, a visionary film director who brings stories to life on the silver screen, weaving a narrative that captivates audiences and leaves a lasting impression.
