Filip Geljo, a talented Canadian performer, was introduced to the world of acting from a young age. Born and raised in Toronto, he is the son of celebrated European actor Jasmin Geljo, who emigrated to Canada as a refugee from the war in the former Yugoslavia. Jasmin's performing talent was passed down to Filip, who developed an interest in acting at a very early age.
Filip's first taste of performing publicly came in first grade when he was asked to play the role of Michael Jackson. He had already mastered the moves, and it was a great opportunity for him to share his talent on stage. This marked the beginning of his TV and film career, which quickly escalated into the Series Lead role of Agent Otto in the acclaimed PBS/TVO production of ODD SQUAD.
As Agent Otto, Filip's beloved character returned as a supporting role in ODD SQUAD - THE MOVIE, garnering him international fan adoration. He still takes the time to personally reply to Agent Otto fan mail, understanding the importance of treating his fans with respect and kindness.
Filip's work has expanded to include supporting roles in the Canadian Screen Award-nominated feature film THE WAITING ROOM, which screened at TIFF, Locarno, and Torino Film Festivals. He has also appeared on TV in roles on ANNEDROIDS and KIM'S CONVENIENCE, as well as in the short film SHAZAD.
Most excitingly, Filip is set to feature in an ensemble cast directed by James Cameron, playing the role of Ao'Nung of the Metkayina Clan in the next two AVATAR SEQUELS. Although he remains humble, he is in contention for various series regular TV roles, including voice work for animation, which has sparked his interest in getting more seriously into voice acting.
In his free time, Filip is an active street basketball player, and he has a newfound interest in perfecting his "dunk." He plans to work one-on-one with the famed dunker Jordan Kilganon. Filip also complements his natural athletic abilities with more artistic endeavors, exploring photography and video production, as well as challenging himself to learn the guitar.
He is inspired by journalism and travel, as well as the music and fashion industries. With a passion for taking on new challenges, Filip is ready to tackle whatever exciting opportunities come his way.
