Frank Schaeffer is the offspring of Francis and Edith Schaeffer, whose pioneering efforts significantly impacted the American evangelical movement. He was reared within the confines of his parents' L'Abri community, situated in Switzerland.
In tandem with his father, Frank played a pivotal role in the formation of the so-called Christian Right in the United States. He successfully mobilized millions of born-again Christians to support conservative causes and oppose liberal causes, including abortion and homosexuality.
However, Frank has since renounced his involvement in the creation of the Religious Right and has converted to Orthodox Christianity. His book "Crazy for God" serves as a memoir, detailing his childhood experiences and a renunciation of his earlier religious and political activities.
