As a child of a military family, I spent my formative years on various U.S. military bases, where access to subsidized movies served as a primary source of cultural influence. My father, a Puerto Rican from Spanish Harlem, met my German-Italian mother in Heidelberg, Germany, and later, when he was re-stationed there, I embarked on a field trip with my sixth-grade class to the home and museum of Albrecht Dürer, a renowned Renaissance artist from Nürnberg.
During that fateful visit, Dürer's self-portrait came to life for me, sparking a deep desire to immerse myself in the world of art. I began reading novels, watching an unprecedented number of movies, and started writing, as I discovered that these mediums encompassed various forms of artistic expression.
In my adolescence, I wrote, produced, and directed a play that my class was invited to perform for the USO. The positive reaction from the G.I.s solidified my passion for storytelling and fueled my ambition to one day create movies.
Currently, I am working on several projects, including:
- Untitled Holiday-Comedy-Romance, a writer-producer collaboration with multiple award-winning director and producer Tomy Wigand.
- Untitled Romantic Comedy, a writer-led project inspired by true events, with producer Becky Brake.
- Untitled Supernatural Romantic Comedy, a writer-producer collaboration with Michael H. Borden.
- Untitled Animation Series, a writer-producer collaboration with Robert Grasmere.
- "It's A Dog's Life," a music-based limited-series inspired by true events, a writer-producer collaboration with Bobby Colonna, featuring contributions from rock journalist, music historian, and author James Campion, co-host of the "Underwater Sunshine" podcast with Adam Duritz.
I am drawn to stories that explore the themes of synchronicity, the magic of existence, and the unifying power of music in the lives of characters whose paths intersect.
