Frank Dobson

Frank Gordon Dobson, a renowned figure in British politics, held the distinguished position of Member of Parliament (MP) for the Holborn and St. Pancras constituency for an impressive thirty-six-year period, spanning from 1979 to 2015. Throughout his illustrious career, he had the remarkable distinction of serving in the Cabinet as the Secretary of State for Health, a role he occupied from 1997 to 1999. Moreover, Dobson was the official Labour Party candidate for the position of Mayor of London in the 2000 election, although he ultimately finished in third place, behind Conservative Steven Norris and the eventual winner, Ken Livingstone, who had previously been a member of the Labour Party but had since defected to the Independent faction.
