Biography

Frank Donald Goodish, a celebrated American professional wrestler, achieved widespread fame and notoriety during his illustrious career, adopting the legendary ring name Bruiser Brody, a moniker that would come to define his presence in the world of wrestling.

In addition to his iconic persona as Bruiser Brody, Goodish also wrestled under the alter egos of King Kong Brody, The Masked Marauder, and Red River Jack, each of which showcased his incredible versatility and adaptability as a performer.

Brody's wrestling style was characterized by his unwavering commitment to the hardcore genre, frequently resulting in grueling matches that left one or more combatants severely injured, with copious amounts of bloodshed by the time the contest concluded.

Brody, a wrestler of notable distinction, not only made a significant impact in North America, but also ventured abroad to Japan, where he consistently participated in high-level matches for the esteemed All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW),further solidifying his reputation as a formidable grappler.

Behind the façade of a charismatic and captivating in-ring persona, Brody harbored a fiercely guarded and intensely private individual, rarely compromising on the outcome of his matches and cultivating a notorious reputation for being explosively volatile. In stark contrast to the scripted nature of professional wrestling, Brody would on occasion deliberately lash out or inflict harm upon his opponents during a match, flagrantly disregarding the predetermined narrative of the performance.

Due to his remarkable in-ring performance and captivating wrestling character, he earned the distinguished honor of being inducted into a prestigious array of professional wrestling halls of fame, including the esteemed St. Louis Wrestling Hall of Fame, the respected Southern Wrestling Hall of Fame, the highly acclaimed Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame, and the iconic WWE Hall of Fame.

Tragically, the life of the renowned individual, Brody, was tragically and prematurely brought to a close in the year 1988, when he met with a fatal and devastating end, succumbing to a series of severe and ultimately fatal stab wounds, which he sustained in a shower, situated backstage, during a wrestling event, which was taking place in the beautiful and vibrant island of Puerto Rico.

The individual responsible for this heinous and tragic act, José González, also known and respected by his wrestling persona, Invader I, was later put on trial, facing charges of murder in connection with Brody's untimely demise.
