Biography

Cuban actor Frank Moro was a renowned figure in the television telenovela and film industries, having achieved great success in his career. Born in the city of Holguín, which was part of the province of Oriente in Cuba at the time, Moro was the son of Idelfonso Moro and Margot Rueda, who had three children together, Frank, Fernando, and Flor.

When Moro was just 16 years old, his parents decided to leave Cuba in 1960 to escape the communist dictatorship that had taken over the country. They moved to Miami, Florida, where Moro finished his studies before deciding to pursue a career in acting. However, he soon realized that there were limited opportunities in the performing arts in Miami, so he moved to Puerto Rico, where the television industry offered more prospects.

Moro's good looks and charisma quickly made him a sought-after supporting actor in various television broadcasts, and he also landed roles in films such as "Antesala de la silla eléctrica" (1968) and "Libertad para la juventud" (1970),showcasing his potential for the big screen. After demonstrating his natural talent, he became a leading actor in telenovelas, achieving great success.

By the mid-1970s, Moro was a household name in Puerto Rico and other Latin American countries, and was considered one of the most popular commodities in Latin television. Ernesto Alonso, a Mexican actor and influential producer, was impressed by Moro's talent and offered him an exclusive contract with Mexico's powerful Televisa Network. Moro accepted the offer, recognizing its magnitude, and moved to Mexico, where he was guided by Alonso and went on to achieve enormous success in Mexican television and films from 1975 to the early 1990s.

Despite his success, Moro never forgot his family and friends in Miami and accepted a contract from Miami-based Univision Network to host a television show that was broadcast across the American continent. Moro was at the pinnacle of his career as an actor when a heart attack tragically cut his life short at the age of 49, shocking the Latin show business and his fans. He was survived by his Miami family and a son, also named Frank, born in Puerto Rico during a brief marriage.
