Frank Slaten was born in Los Angeles, the third generation of a showbiz family, with his mother being an actress and stunt woman. He got his big break when he landed a role in the TV series M*A*S*H in 1975 and stayed with the show until its conclusion in 1983.
Throughout his career, Frank has had an impressive 25 TV roles and 15 feature film roles. In 1996, he was accepted into the NYU Film department's advanced program and went on to produce, direct, and write over ten short films. He received his certificate in 1998 and has been working as a Set Production Assistant on various films and television series in New York City and Los Angeles.
As of 2010, Frank has continued to produce, direct, and write short films, including "Night Crew" (1999),"Winter Chill" (2002),"Meal Ticket" (2004),and "The Living Room" (2008),which received an Editor's Choice award from Crackle.com. He has also worked on feature films, including "The Doctor Is In" (2006),which was screened at the Lower East Side Film Festival and the Long Island Wine Country Film Festival.
In 2012, Frank was involved in the feature films "One Last Gasp," "Meal Ticket-The Movie," and "Surviving Soul," which are being represented by Attorney Adam Davids in New York City. He is also pursuing offers for the feature film "The Elusive Chef" to be shot in New York City.
As an actor, Frank has found a new audience with the release of "Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie" (2012),in a hilarious scene with Jeff Goldblum. He has also appeared in three episodes of the episodic television show "Tim and Eric's Awesome Show, Great Job."
Frank has been in talks with his former classmates at NYU about collaborating on a slate of feature films to be shot in New York and Europe.
