Frankie Ray was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, and spent his childhood in various locations including Colville/Spokane, WA, Oakland/Vallejo, CA, and Bend, Oregon. After joining the U.S. Army in 1979, he spent three years in Germany where he learned to play the guitar. Following his military service, he joined a band in Tacoma, WA, called Lamoor, but without income from the band, he started teaching Pro Ballroom and Latin Dancing at Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Tacoma, WA.
Over the next decade, Frankie taught and honed his skills at various studios around the country, eventually finishing his ballroom dancing career at Arthur Murray's in Beverly Hills. He then went on to tour Japan as the lead dancer/singer in the production of "Hello America Hello," but after the tour, he found himself homeless and living under a bank in Century City.
Despite his difficult circumstances, Frankie crashed a film rehearsal and booked his first job as a dancer in the film "Mambo Kings." He continued to work in film, eventually landing his first speaking role in the film "Prison Planet" and going on to work with renowned directors and actors, including Michael Jackson, Marlon Brando, and David Fincher.
Frankie Ray is a multi-talented individual with a golden, broadcast-quality voice and a range of skills that include Pro Dancer, Musician, Singer, Rapper, DJ/Karaoke host, MC, Stuntman, and Actor. He maintains an athletic physique and is an avid surfer, rescue scuba diver, kayaker, fisherman, and cliff climber.
Throughout his career, Frankie has been known for his commitment to his characters and his ability to deliver high-quality performances. He has worked on numerous national commercials, features, and TV shows, and has been rehired by many of the directors and actors he has worked with. After 23 years of sobriety, Frankie is a true professional who is dependable, dedicated, and cool-headed, and he continues to bring his unique set of skills to every project he takes on.
