Franklin J. Anderson, a native of Houston, Texas, was born in 1954 and embarked on his acting career by chance while completing a social work internship at a local community center. During this internship, he was unexpectedly plugged into a skit by the artistic director of the community center when one of the lead actors failed to appear. Franklin's impressive performance led to an invitation to audition for the play "The Diary of Black Men," which went on to tour nationally, including a stint on Broadway where he co-starred.
In addition to his filmography, Franklin has also toured nationally with the play "Camp Logan." Moreover, he has written several screenplays, including the upcoming horror film "Street Tales of Terror" (co-written with J.D. Hawkins and Cory Shields),which is set to be released in video stores in the fall of 2004.
Franklin is a divorced father of three children, Aziza, Christina, and Franklin Jr. He is a graduate of the University of Houston, where he currently teaches "The African-American Experience Through Theatre."
