Frida Farrell, the eldest of three siblings, grew up in Malmö, a city with a population of approximately three hundred thousand inhabitants in southern Sweden. At the tender age of six, her interest in acting was sparked when her grandmother took her to the theater to see Romeo And Juliet. This marked the beginning of a lifelong passion for the performing arts.
Frida's mother soon enrolled her in a youth theatre group, where she spent many years honing her craft. Prior to this, she had been training in ballet for nine years, but unfortunately, a knee injury sustained while ice-skating at the age of 12 brought her dancing career to a premature halt.
However, Frida's fate took a dramatic turn when she was discovered by a French modeling agency on a street corner at the age of 13. This led to a successful modeling career, taking her to Milan, Paris, and New York, among other destinations. Despite her success in the modeling world, Frida's true passion remained acting.
At the age of 22, she made the bold decision to leave her modeling career behind and move to London, where she was accepted into the prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama. Her big break came when she was cast in a lead role in the feature film Tan Lines (2005),which went on to win the award for Best Cinematography at the 2005 New York International Film and Video Festival.
Frida's subsequent film roles included Venus Drowning (2006),Afterman 2 (2005),and Messages (2007),in which she co-starred with Jeff Fahey. However, she soon decided to take the leap and relocate to Los Angeles, despite knowing no one in the city.
Undeterred, Frida managed to secure a meeting with a high-profile ICM agent, who agreed to represent her. Since then, she has appeared as a guest on the popular TV show Bones (2005) on FOX, starred in six feature films, and won an award for "Breakout Female Star in a Feature" at the AOFF in Hollywood for her standout performance in Contract Killers (2008),opposite Nick Mancuso.
This award-winning performance was just the beginning of her success, as she went on to complete more than six additional feature films, including Stiletto (2008),alongside Tom Berenger and Michael Biehn.
