Fuschia, a multifaceted individual, is the mother of Jacquel and wife of Dontey. As an entrepreneur, singer, actress, and untrained dancer who moves with remarkable flair, she has built a reputation for herself.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Fuschia's early life was marked by a passion for music. While attending high school as an opera major at The Baltimore School for the Arts, she received a prestigious scholarship from The John's Hopkins Peabody Institute of Music to participate in an after-school program focused on jazz.
Upon graduating from high school, Fuschia's academic achievements earned her several scholarships to attend The University of the Arts (formerly known as The Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts) to further her studies in opera.
Despite her natural talent for opera, Fuschia's instructors recognized that her high energy levels and exceptional dance skills made her an ideal candidate for a different path. Her teachers encouraged her to focus on singing, leaving interpretive dance out of her recitals. Little did they know that dance was, in fact, her first love.
Fuschia's early life was marked by discouragement, as she was told she was too overweight to pursue a career in dance. However, this setback only fueled her determination. She seized the opportunity to discover more about herself and her abilities.
Fuschia's breakthrough came when she was cast in Philadelphia's Riverfront Dinner Theatre production of "The Wiz," playing the lead role of Dorothy. She also had the opportunity to play the Narrator in "Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." From there, she continued to build her career in New York, with no signs of slowing down.
