Donald Gale Thompson, a multifaceted individual, began his educational journey by graduating from Logan High School in La Crosse, Wisconsin, in 1958. After a brief stint in bootcamp at MCRTD in San Diego, he was physically discharged from the Marine Corps Reserve before the summer of 1958 came to a close.
Thompson's professional life was marked by his work as a commercial and illustration artist for various graphics companies in the Coulee Region, as well as his contributions to WEAU-TV in Eau Claire in 1968.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Thompson was an active participant in Logan dramatics and local Community Theater projects.
When he relocated to Los Angeles, a Screen Actor's Guild conflict led him to adopt the stage name "Galen Thompson" for his early acting endeavors.
Sadly, Thompson is survived by two sisters and a brother.
In accordance with his final wishes, he will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery in La Crosse. A brief memorial service has been scheduled for December 27, 2011.
