Genevieve Anderson is a multifaceted individual, exceling as both a filmmaker and entrepreneur. Her impressive body of work has garnered widespread recognition, with her short films screened at over 100 festivals globally, earning accolades in prominent events such as the Berlin, Seattle, Chicago, Rhode Island, and Palm Springs festivals, as well as being broadcast on esteemed channels like ARTE and IFC.
Anderson's debut feature, DUSTWUN, was inspired by her personal experience living near the US-Mexican border. The film has won numerous awards, including Best Indie Feature at the AZ Int'l Film Festival, Socially Relevant Film Fest, and Faith in Film Fest. Her impressive achievements have also earned her prestigious recognition, including being a Rockefeller Media Artist Grant recipient and an Annenberg Fellow. She holds a Master's degree from the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
Anderson's extensive professional experience includes serving as the Production Manager and Producer for renowned video artist Bill Viola for 15 years. During this time, she produced work for prominent institutions such as the Biennale Venice, St. Paul Cathedral, London, The Deutsche Guggenheim, and The Hamad International Airport, Qatar, among many others. Her academic work has been published in Artcore Journal.
In 2015, Anderson relocated to Tubac, Arizona, where she founded an 8-acre farm and taught at the University of Arizona's School of Film & TV. Her work, Forming the Formless, was nominated for an Emmy in 2017. She received a New Works Grant from the Tucson Arts Council in 2018 to develop Isolating Anima, a project exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and the creative impulse.
Anderson moved back to Los Angeles in 2019 and is the founder of WUNZ, a mission-based apparel company working in partnership with the Los Angeles Mission to address the city's homeless crisis.
