Native New Yorker Geoff, an American-Asian musician and actor, began his musical journey at the tender age of 10, singing in the local church choir. He later studied contemporary Afro-American music at SUNY Old Westbury under the guidance of jazz professor Makanda McIntryre. Geoff's first theater experience was as a musical director for Pan-Asian Repertory@La Mama's production of "Bullet-Headed Birds," directed by Tisha Chang.
After college, Geoff taught music to teenagers at Project Reach in Chinatown, NY, but soon left teaching to pursue his passion for rock music. He joined The Heat as a bassist and composer, and the band was eventually signed to Polygram Records. The Heat regularly performed at iconic clubs like CBGBs and Max's Kansas City, and even toured England and Wales.
Geoff's acting career began when he studied drama with the renowned Mako (East/West Players, Pacific Overtures) and took independent classes taught by a member of the Actors Studio. In 2017, he attended a master actors class taught by Tzi Ma.
In 2013, Geoff composed and recorded the music score for the short film "Tu-Na House," which won a Golden Eagle award in NYC, directed by Bea Soong. He has also acted in several films, including "Year of The Dragon" and "Magic Sticks" (German).
Most recently, Geoff appeared in the action-comedy feature film "Made In Chinatown," playing two roles: Knowledge and Liu The Ancient. The film premiered at the Newark International Film Festival in 2019.
Geoff has also had notable roles in several TV shows, including "The Blacklist" alongside James Spader in 2019, and "Nightcap" alongside Bob Saget in 2018. He previously appeared on "The Daily Show" in 2013, playing the role of Zhi Peng, Jon Stewart's Chinese bandleader.
In addition to his acting and music career, Geoff has worked as a stunt double in several films, including "Black Rain" (dir. Ridley Scott) and "The Other Guys" (dir. Andy McKay). He has also done his own stunts in "Taking Manhattan" (dir. Kirk Wong).
Geoff has appeared in several award-winning films, including "The Exquisite Corpse Project" (dir. Ben Popik),a documentary-comedy, where he played the three combo-characters of Mr. Kim. In 2019, he was featured in five indie films: "Eugenia and John," "Paradise City," "Snakeeater," "I Want More, I Want Less," and "The Garden Left Behind."
In 2014, "Revenge of the Green Dragons" was released, featuring Geoff in the role of Charlie Lo, a gambling house owner. He worked alongside renowned Hong Kong director Andrew Lau (Infernal Affairs) and co-director Andrew Loo, with executive producer Martin Scorsese.
Geoff has also appeared in three web series: "The Streets," "Queering," and "Stills." In Spring 2016, he played a featured role in the web series "Mahjongg" (dir. Troy Antonio). Additionally, he appeared in two music videos by renowned Asian rapper China Mac.
