Biography

Geoffrey's early life was marked by a strong educational foundation, having attended Berkhampstead School where he excelled in both sports and academic studies, also showcasing his theatrical talents by appearing in school plays. Following his national service in the Royal Tank Regiment in Hong Kong, he pursued higher education at Exeter College, studying law and continuing to hone his acting skills by participating in college plays and revues. Initially, his parents disapproved of his aspirations to become an actor, and he instead married Gina Gurney and relocated to Canada, where he worked for ICI, creating promotional films.

In 1960, Geoffrey ventured into the world of filmmaking, establishing Geoff Reeve Productions and producing and directing commercially sponsored documentary films across the globe. His professional journey continued to unfold as he joined Carl Foreman's Open Road Films as an associate producer, during which time he sought film rights to Daphne du Maurier's works and crossed paths with author Alastair MacLean, who would later collaborate with Geoffrey on his directorial debut, Puppet on a Chain.

Geoffrey's introduction of Alastair to the Spanish Camargue sparked an idea for a thriller set in the region, which would ultimately become Caravan to Vaccares, a film Geoffrey produced and directed. In 1984, he produced the television mini-series The Far Pavilions, followed by a long-term collaboration with Michael Caine, producing films such as Half Moon Street, The Whistle Blower, Shadow Run, and executive producing Quick Sand.

Geoffrey's personal life has been marked by two marriages. His first marriage to actress Katharine Wightman resulted in the birth of two sons, Jim and Tom, who have worked on various projects alongside their father. His second marriage to Jennifer Clare, a fashion photographic model, brought forth a daughter, Emma Victoria, born in 1998.
