George Hull's remarkable journey began in India, where he was born, and continued in the United States, where he grew up in a small midwestern town. Despite being discouraged by his instructors from pursuing a career in the film industry, George's passion for film design only grew stronger. He went on to earn a BFA Degree in Industrial Design, setting the stage for his future success.
George's talent did not go unnoticed, as Lucasfilm's prestigious visual effects company, Industrial Light & Magic, recognized his potential and offered him a position on their creative team shortly after graduation. At ILM, George's early credits included the Oscar-winning film Forrest Gump, followed by a rapid rise to the position of Lead Visual Effects Art Director. His impressive portfolio includes notable films such as Mission Impossible, Jurassic Park 2, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi special editions.
After six years at ILM, George left to form George Hull Design, where he continues to push the boundaries of creative visual development in the film industry. As a leading conceptual designer, George specializes in crafting unique and imaginative worlds, complete with cinematography, settings, and vehicles that bring these worlds to life.
