Georgi Staykov, a renowned Bulgarian actor, was born on August 10th, 1964, in the charming town of Veliko Tarnovo. His journey in the world of acting began in 1989, when he graduated from the prestigious Bulgarian Acting Academy under the guidance of the esteemed Encho Halachev. Following his graduation, Staykov made the bold decision to leave his home country and embark on a new adventure in Sweden.
In Sweden, Staykov has made a name for himself by portraying a wide range of Eastern-European characters, often taking on the role of the antagonist or, as he humorously puts it, "all bad guys who eventually die." His most notable success came when he portrayed the complex and intriguing character of Alexander Zalachenko, a former Soviet spy, in the critically acclaimed Swedish film trilogy "Millennium," based on the bestselling novels by Stieg Larsson.
Back in Bulgaria, Staykov has enjoyed success in films such as "Vchera" (Yesterday),"Bezdraskotina" (No scratch),"Reservat" (Reservate),"Missia London" (Mission London),and "Tilt." He has also made appearances in several TV shows, including the popular series "Sedem Chasa Razlika" (In seven hours).
