Marina Gera, an Emmy Award-winning actress, was born in Szeged, Hungary, and holds the distinction of being the first Hungarian actor to win an International Emmy Award.
From a young age, Marina was drawn to the stage, making her debut at the tender age of five. Her passion for acting only grew stronger, and she went on to graduate from the prestigious University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest in 2008.
Marina's early career was marked by a focus on international co-productions, with performances in Budapest, Parma, Moscow, and Graz, as well as across Europe. Her work in theatre and film progressed in tandem, with collaborations with renowned directors such as Kornél Mundruczó and György Pálfi.
Her breakout role came in 2018, when she played the lead in Örök tél (Eternal Winter),a role that required intense preparation, including a significant reduction in her weight. Her performance earned her numerous awards, including best actress at three international festivals, and the coveted Emmy for Best Performance by an Actress in 2019.

Marina is also pursuing her passion for writing, working on an original screenplay about the coming-of-age story of an Eastern European actress. In her native Hungary, she recently starred in the television film Nino bárkája, directed by Bence Miklauzic, playing a woman suffering from Tourette syndrome.
