Gigi Edgley is a talented Australian actress, born in Perth, with a rich family background in the entertainment industry. Her father, Michael Edgley, was a prominent concert and circus promoter who brought the Moscow State Circus to Australia in the 1980s. Her mother, Jeni Edgley, manages a 250-acre health retreat.
As a child, Gigi was already involved in various forms of performance, including ballet, jazz, and character dance. She honed her skills at the Twelfth Night Theater and later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Queensland University of Technology in 1998.
Gigi's early acting career included several independent productions, as well as guest spots on popular Australian TV shows such as Water Rats and The Day of the Roses. Her breakthrough role came when she was cast as Chiana on the science fiction TV series Farscape, which she joined in 1999. She initially appeared in only one episode, but her character proved so popular that she was promoted to a regular cast member, appearing in a total of 68 episodes.
Throughout her career, Gigi has demonstrated her versatility by taking on a wide range of roles in TV and film. Between seasons of Farscape, she appeared in guest starring roles on shows such as The Lost World and BeastMaster. After the cancellation of Farscape, she went on to appear in TV dramas such as BlackJack and The Secret Life of Us, as well as the critically acclaimed Australian drama/thriller Last Train to Freo, for which she received a nomination for Best Actress in a Lead Role from the Film Critics Circle of Australia.
In addition to her TV work, Gigi has also appeared in several feature films, including Showdown at Area 51 and Newcastle. In 2009, she began working on the Aussie TV series Rescue Special Ops, playing the role of Lara Knight.
