Giles Perkins is a multifaceted creative force, hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, and currently based in Brooklyn, New York. He is a proud alumnus of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film & Television Production.
As a writer and director, Giles has made a name for himself in the industry with his thought-provoking films, Expiration Date and Apollo. These projects delve into the complexities of interpersonal conflict, stemming from misguided American ideals. Expiration Date has been showcased at several esteemed film festivals, including the St. Louis International Film Festival, Norwich Film Festival, New Hampshire Film Festival, and Lunenburg Doc Fest, with upcoming screenings at the Atlanta Film Festival, Dallas International Film Festival, and the American Documentary and Animation Film Festival. Apollo, on the other hand, premiered at the Woodstock Film Festival, earning a nomination for best short film, and Giles was also a finalist for the 2024 Sundance Ignite Fellowship and shortlisted for the Young Director Awards.
Giles has also made a significant impact in the music video realm, having directed visuals for prominent artists such as Gryffin, Elley Duhé, and Isabel LaRosa, working with various labels including Interscope, RCA, Gamma, and The Darkroom. In 2023, he directed a series of short documentaries on Brooklyn-based fashion designer KidSuper, capturing his Paris Fashion Week shows, including the AW23 season he designed for Louis Vuitton.
As Giles continues to grow as a creative force, he is currently in pre-production for his next short film and developing his debut feature film.
