Giorgio Caputo, a thespian with a rich and varied career, was born in Naples and raised in Rome. His passion for acting led him to study economics in London before pursuing his dream of becoming a thespian. He enrolled in the Scuola di recitazione di Beatrice Bracco in Rome, where he honed his skills in acting theory, textual interpretation, improvisation, voice, and movement. Additionally, he became a member of the Actor's Center of Michael Margotta, further solidifying his craft.
Caputo continued his training in both Italy and the United States, working with renowned acting coaches such as Francesca De Sapio, Geraldine Baron, and others. He also participated in workshops with notable industry professionals, including Sofia Coppola, Vincent Schiavelli, Greta Seacat, and Pierpaolo Sepe.
Giorgio's on-screen debut came in 1997 with the film "Naja," and he has since balanced a career as both a leading man and journeyman character actor, appearing in numerous feature films and television serials. Some of his notable roles include 'Gufo' in the biography film "Rino Gaetano," 'Escamillo' in "Carmen," 'Armando' in "Sfiorarsi," and 'Ricotta' in the critically acclaimed "Romanzo Criminale," which has been sold worldwide.
On stage, Giorgio made his debut with "Cyrano de Bergerac" directed by Giuseppe Patroni Griffi in 1999. He has since appeared in several Roman productions, showcasing his comedy skills. In 2008, he made his writing and directing debut with the award-winning short film "Action," which won numerous accolades, including Best Director at BISFF 2008 and Nastro d'Argento for Best Actor (De Matteo).
When not acting, Giorgio directs commercials and plays, while also writing and developing future projects. He is also a member of the Italian band "Orchestraccia," which recently released its second album in April 2016.
