Giorgio Panetta's Early Life and Interest in Acting
Giorgio Panetta, a talented individual, spent his formative years in New Jersey, where he developed a passion for skateboarding, sports, and fishing. However, it wasn't until he pursued a degree in science, specifically meteorology, in college that he took his first acting class to fulfill an arts requirement. Little did he know, this would be the catalyst for a lifelong journey in the world of acting.
College and the Discovery of Acting
Giorgio's initial introduction to acting was met with an unexpected enthusiasm. He devoured all things acting, and his instructors encouraged him to pursue his newfound passion further. They advised him to move to New York City, where he was eventually accepted into the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Art on a scholarship.
Early Career and Breakthrough Roles
Giorgio's talent and dedication led to a string of successful performances. He landed a few episodes of the popular soap opera All My Children, as well as various off- and off-off-Broadway plays. He had the privilege of working with renowned playwrights such as John Cariani, Derek Ahonen, and Adam Rapp. His breakthrough role came when he was cast in the New York premiere stage reading of Meet Me At The Oak, playing Frank Boudoin, written by Layon Grey.
Breaking Stereotypes and Versatility
Giorgio has consistently defied expectations by taking on diverse roles. He played the flamboyant hairdresser/drug dealer in a scene-stealing performance on FX's POSE, a far cry from his tough gangster character, Vince, on CBS's The Equalizer. This showcases his impressive range and ability to adapt to different characters.
Tookany Creek Films and Future Projects
Giorgio is a founding member and Vice President of Tookany Creek Films, alongside Sam Centrella and Reuben Barsky. Their debut feature film, The Life Of Peter Gottlieb, is set for release in the summer of 2022, and they are already working on a follow-up script. The trio continues to create and write daily, building a strong artistic network.
