Giovanni Morassutti, a multifaceted individual with a rich cultural heritage, being the offspring of a German mother and an Italian father, is an accomplished actor, director, and cultural entrepreneur currently residing in New York.
From a young age, Giovanni has been immersed in the world of acting and directing, initially studying the realistic school under the tutelage of Susan Strasberg, and subsequently honing his craft as an auditor at the renowned Actors Studio in New York, where he was mentored by Salem Ludwig at the HB studio and John Strasberg, with whom he now collaborates as an assistant and coordinator for his workshops in Berlin.
Giovanni's extensive experience in the American theatre scene includes working with the esteemed Ellen Stewart, founder of La Mama e.t.c., Ted Mornel, Kathleen M. Wilce, and the acclaimed director Gus Van Sant.
In Italy, after graduating from the National Film School in Rome, directed by the accomplished actor Giancarlo Giannini, Giovanni landed various roles in theatre and film productions. Simultaneously, he has been teaching acting workshops in English, further solidifying his expertise in the field.
Giovanni's most recent directorial endeavor was the theatre production of Madre sin Panuelo by Jorge Palant, sponsored by the Argentinian Embassy and presented in Rome and Milan during the fall of 2015.
In Berlin, Giovanni was cast in the film For the time being, directed by Daniela Lucato, which premiered at the 71st edition of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
